Professor of Spanish and Linguistics
Gregory B. Stone
received his Ph.D. in Iberorromance Philology and Linguistics from the
University
of Texas at Austin in 1980.
He taught at the University
of Texas at San Antonio, University
of Minnesota - Duluth, and Memphis
State University prior to
joining the faculty of Sul Ross State University-Rio Grande College in
1990.
His research interests include Spanish language maintenance in the United States, the issues surrounding the inclusion of foreign language study into the business curriculum, and various topics in Hispanic dialectology. He has published several articles on these and other topics in such journals as The Modern Language Journal, Anuario de Letras , and The Journal of Language for International Business.
