Professor Robert Overfelt received his B.A. and M.A. in history from Baylor University. In 1973, Dr. Overfelt completed the requirements for the Ph.D. in History at Texas Christian University.
Professor Overfelt taught at Texas A&M - Kingsville, Dominican College in Houston, and Texas Christian University. Presently, Professor Overfelt is Professor of History and Chairperson of the Department of Liberal Arts at Sul Ross State University - Rio Grande College.
Dr. Overfelt's publications have appeared in Journal of the West, Hispanic American Historical Review, Journal of Church and State, and the Southwestern Historical Quarterly. His book on the Val Verde Winery was published by the University of Texas - Texas Western Press.
